5. Clean up
5.1 Clear work area and dispose of or recycle materials
5.2 Clean, check, maintain and store tools and equipment
Evidence of the ability to:
interpret scripts when planning and undertaking continuity tasks for productions maintain continuity of performers’ costumes and accessories during productions
produce accurate documentation of costume continuity information
monitor and maintain condition of costumes for continuity during productions
take account of continuity issues when arranging costume repairs or alterations
provide updates about continuity issues to relevant personnel.
Note: If a specific volume or frequency is not stated, then evidence must be provided at least once.
To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:
describe protocols in relation to undertaking costume continuity tasks on film shoots or during live productions
outline roles and responsibilities of production personnel who need to be aware of continuity issues
describe elements of costumes that require particular attention for continuity purposes
explain continuity conventions in relation to how aspects of costumes are viewed by audiences or captured on camera
describe administrative procedures and documentation associated with costume continuity.
Assessment must be conducted in a safe environment where evidence gathered demonstrates consistent performance of typical activities experienced in creative arts industry environments. The assessment environment must include access to:
productions requiring a range of costume changes
basic costume repair kit
costumes and costume accessories.
Assessors of this unit must satisfy the requirements for assessors in applicable vocational educational and training legislation, frameworks and/or standards.
